APPEAL FOR HELP
Mack has arrived in New Delhi, #India 🇮🇳. You have to give it to him, once released, he is a real little Speedy Gonzales... 😂
Next are #Kolkata - #India, #Changmai - #Thailand, #Danang - #Vietnam, #Taipei - Taiwan and #Seoul - #SouthKorea, before hopefully crossing over to #Nakashibetsu, #Japan and fly North towards the USA.
We say “hopefully” because Mack's original route went through China and Russia. The world is a very different place since last year 😔 and it's no mystery that Russia is not an option anymore. Even if Mack is now following parts of Zara's route via Taiwan and South Korea, he cannot fly to Vladivostok, Magadan or Anadyr. Japan is Mack's only possible route to get to the USA,...
Well, apart from the Pacific 🌏 route some are suggesting. So why not the "Pacific Ocean route"? Well, with barely any land 🌊between the Hawaiian Islands and the mainland US, this is and was never an option. It is a dangerous ⭕️ overseas route where Amelia Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan were lost at sea nearby New Guinea.
So again, the only safe route for Mack is Japan 🇯🇵. But we have a huge issue. Japan has unfortunately already said "no". Reason? Mack is flying a microlight and they are officially not allowed into Japanese airspace. We are currently asking again and hoping that they will grant Mack an exemption. If the Japanese authorities confirm their negative answer, Mack has no viable route to Alaska 🇺🇸.
We have had to change the route so many times now, mainly due to the political upheaval in the world since March, that we are a little at the end of our wits 😩.
➡️ So we NEED YOUR HELP: do you know anyone in or outside the aviation community who might be able to help obtain an exemption for Mack to fly through Japan?
➡️ Or would you have any other viable SUGGESTIONS?
If not, we are facing an enormous problem... This might just mean the end of the journey and Mack's World Record breaking attempt 😔🥺. Of course, it’s about the effort, but we want to give it everything considering how far Mack has now come…
