Same same, but different.
So what are the differences between Zara and Mack's journey 🌍? Well, there is some healthy brother-sister rivalry 😅, sure, but in the end, it was Zara inspiring Mack to go on this journey. She is part of his flight-ops team, helping and advising her brother as much as she can. He chose a totally different route though (via Africa, rather than South America), is attempting his around-the-world flight at very different time of the year and in the opposite direction.
Zara was 19 when she started her journey making her "Youngest Woman" to fly ✈️ solo around the world (reducing the age gap by 12 years) and youngest person to do this in a microlight. Mack started his journey at 16 and is attempting to break the Guinness world record of "Youngest Person" overall, trying to beat Travis Ludlow, who was 18 years and 5 months at the time he broke the record.
And what about the sponsor ICDSoft without whom none of this would be possible? Well, this web hosting company was Zara’s main sponsor. In Mack’s case, they are the only sponsor! Thank you Dimitar Dimitrov!
And what about the planes? For a start, Mack's Shark 🦈 dates from 2015 (nr 031) and Zara's from 2019 (nr. 080). They sport different size fuel tanks and propellers: Zara had a variable pitch one (as if she could change gears) and Mack's comes with an Propellers E-Props (not yet fitted when picture was taken). They are also kitted out in different colours: red for Zara, blue for Mack. Zara's plane even comes with an « Izzy cover » dog shield for the rear. Why? Because the owner likes to fly with his 🦮 Izzy in the back and needed to make sure its paws 🐾 wouldn't inadvertently hit the controls 😂.
And what are the differences in flight suits? None when it comes to the amazing capacities of their protective 🔥 flame-resistant Propper suits, but Mack and Zara have opted for different colours for their 🌍✈️ RTW, beige and green.
